Boho Themed One-Year Cake-Smash Session
When Zoey's mom booked her cake smash session in my Attleboro studio, she requested a boho theme. Soft whites and pinks, with a simply elegant cake from Sweet Stuff Bake Shop made for the perfect setting!
When little miss first came to see me, she reacted predictably like most 1 year olds do, some stranger danger and curious skepticism to just what she was supposed to do in the studio. Instead of immediately sitting her on the backdrop, we took the time for her to warm up to the space. We played with some toys and bubbles until she felt comfortable. Taking the extra time to get babies acclimated to the space makes a huge difference! Zoey warmed up and did fantastic! Just look at these smiles and what I would call a successful cake smash! One of my favorite cake smash sessions to date! I LOVE doing these sessions!
Before bringing out the cake, we got some cute images of Zoey just being Zoey. Look how sweet she is!!
And here comes the cake! She was very excited to dig right in!
To get her used to the sticky feeling of the frosting, she had some homework to do before her session. She had a test run with a cupcake so she knew that sweet sugary frosting was going to be yummy!
Other homework that helped make this such a successful cake smash session was scheduling around baby's nap schedule. I only book one session a day in the studio and so we have the flexibility to choose the time-slot where baby will be the happiest for their cake smash session.
Pretty pleased with herself!
