Wedding Day Survival Kit
The wedding day is crazy and hectic and Murphy's Law of "anything that can go wrong, will go wrong" still applies. Luckily, just like that first-aid kit in your glovebox, you can prepare a kit of insurance against small mishaps! You can easily order most of this online or pull it from your own bathroom and have it all in one place for the big day. Put a Bridesmaid in charge of it throughout the day and you won't have to worry about it! Most of these are all "just-in-case" and fingers-crossed you will never use them, but you or anyone in your bridal party that may need them will think you are a superhero if they do end up using them!
Earplugs: Some DJ's really know how to rock but as a professional Photographer that also has a Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, I always wear earplugs once the dance floor opens. Saves my head and ears.
Deodorant and a very lightly scented body-spray for a quick freshening up before your first dance.
Hand-sanitizer: You'll be doing a lot of handshaking and exchanging of germs and if you're off to enjoy your Honeymoon the last thing you want to bring along is a cold or flu.
Tampons and pads: curses Mother-Nature!!
Water and Gatorade: NOT red or orange that will stain the lips or tongue. Get the white or yellow Gatorade to avoid skin-staining. This is especially helpful for replacing electrolytes in the summer time.
Protein: protein bars, crackers with peanut putter, snacks that will help raise your blood sugars. Trust me, you won't eat until very late and even then guests may interrupt you to talk. Nothing's worse than being hangry!
A clear umbrella: It may not rain, but then again this is New England...it very well could!
Needle and thread: I can't tell you how many times I've seen a zipper break on a gown! White thread for wedding dress and matching thread of bridesmaids dresses.
Tissues: Those waterworks may spout during the fabulous speeches.
Small mirror: To check for make-up touch-ups.
Hairspray, small comb and bobby-pins: great to have for a quick touch-up before the reception.
Lipstick
Hand lotion and nail-clippers
Breath-mints
Disposable tooth-brush: It's going to be a long day.
Wet-wipes: great for quick clean-ups.
Tide-stick/Shout wipes: Great-auntie means well but going in for a hug her lipstick may rub off onto your dress.
Change of shoes: the killer looking high-heals turn into just killer after a couple hours. Bring some comfy ballet flats for dancing.
Safety-pins: It's been know to happen that a button breaks when bustling the dress.
Small first-aid kit with bandaids and moleskin incase of blisters.
Antihistamine: don't let allergies ruin your day. Nor gas & diarrhea: a few Gas-X and Pepto Bismol tablets.
Tylenol and Ibuprofen: There is more than one source of headaches you can anticipate from the hustle and bustle to loud dance music.
Small bottle of super-glue: any glue with "super" in the name should be included!
Earring backs: throw in a set of extra earring backs.
Phone charger: and toss in the phone too. Have the bridesmaid in charge be responsible for the whole kit-and-caboodle!
Emergency phone number list of all Vendors: Photographer, Videographer, Officiant, Venues, Coordinator, Florist, Hair & Make-up artist, etc.
Copy of Insurance cards and ID: hopefully you won't need it, but it's there just-in-case.
