Romantic Holliston Summer Wedding
I LOVED photographing SarahEmily and Francises wedding at the Holliston Historical Society in Holliston, MA. I met SarahEmily and Francis last year at their Engagement Session and I fell in love with them the minute we met at Larz Anderson Park for their session.
When they reached out to hire me to document their wedding day I was so thrilled! These two are my definition of my "ideal client." They are so in love, you can feel it. They are classy in an old-soul kind of way and SarahEmily laughs with her whole heart. Francis is quick to bring out that laugh but just as quick to elicit the most powerful look of love from SarahEmily your heart can't help but turn to mush. They are both tenderhearted and in the initial questionnaire, I was warned there would be lots of joyful tears at the ceremony. They did not disappoint!
The Holliston Historical Society hosts an amazing mid-1800's mansion that is perfect for getting ready, a unique garden area that was utilized for the ceremony but also has the cutest romantic little barn and outdoor tent area for the reception! A mansion, garden, and barn/tent wedding all on one property!
The two got ready in separate rooms of the mansion. It was the perfect setting to be able to photograph both getting ready but without them seeing each other. I loved going back and forth between the rooms and seeing the joy and excitement each was feeling. Francis and his groomsmen made their own boutonnières out of wildflowers and SarahEmily had her hair done by her sister.
When SarahEmily stepped into her dress her mom handed her a tissue to wipe the tears away. Her sister secured her veil while her sweet niece looked on with adoration and then hugged her leg. Sweet and tender moments that happened as the anticipation built to start the ceremony.
When the time came, Francis took his spot near the arch in the garden. In front of their closest friends and family the moment his eyes fell on SarahEmily tears of love streamed down Francis' cheeks. When SarahEmily, who was escorted by her Mother came closer it was like there was no one else there, her eyes and heart overflowed as well. It was the sweetest moment I've ever witnessed.
Their vows were so full of love, commitment, giggles, laughter and depth. Handwritten in each of their small vow books, their hands were steady and their declarations strong. Guests wiped tears as they pledged their lives to one another.
SarahEmily and Francis were welcomed by their friends and family for the first time as husband with the romantic barn as the backdrop and cheers, laughing and clapping all around them.
I always love the toasts at the reception, I learn so much about the Bride and Groom. I heard about SarahEmily's compassionate, strong willed and loving heart. I learned of Francis' love of poetry and music and the way he cares for his sister. SarahEmily's notorious laugh was a common theme in all the speeches. She laugh's with her whole soul and really does fill the room around her with joy.
The food that was served was as unique as the Bride and Groom. Clover Food Labs food truck provided Vegan sandwich selections and refreshing lemonade.
Around the interior of the barn, photos of SarahEmily and Francis with smiles and favorite memories decorated posts. A long table was covered in handmade blankets made by SarahEmily for each wedding quest. The most astounding generous party favor I've ever seen.
The vegan wedding cakes and pops were homemade by the Grooms sister. The theme of LOVE could be seen and felt throughout the whole day!
